Saturday 30th April to Monday 2nd May
Speaker: Tim Genders (Mariannhill Ecclesia, Kwa Zulu Natal, South Africa) Theme: When love comes to town
1 John 1 v 2 The life appeared; we have seen it and testify to it, and we proclaim to you the eternal life, which was with the Father and has appeared to us.
We invite you and your family to join with us for an encouraging and challenging weekend as we explore God’s messages to us about sharing His love.
We pray that our time together will encourage and inspire us; that we may return to our churches and local communities with fresh ideas and renewed enthusiasm to work for Jesus.
As last year, the weekend starts at Whalley Range High School, Manchester, on Saturday morning, with worship and talks. In the afternoon you have the opportunity of taking up a workshop, following the theme of the weekend. There is then free time (or football for those so inclined) followed by lively and thought provoking family worship. In the evening we meet together to worship and reflect on our relationship with our Lord and our personal response to his love. On Sunday morning, we meet to remember our Lord in bread and wine, worship and hear words of exhortation.
After lunch, we will move up to The Bethel in Old Trafford where we will be taking part in the Bethel Festival ; a range of community outreach activities at the church and in the local park. We hope this will be an opportunity to try out and take home ideas to reach your local community, whilst having some fun too.
The activities will include;
- Running a coffee shop
- Puppet show
- Face painting
- Street art
- Gardening advice and potting up plants
- Prayer tent
- Busking
Sunday evening we will return to the school for a celebration. On Monday we meet for a relaxing walk and closing thoughts, followed by lunch together back at the Bethel, in Old Trafford.
